This topic describes how to use a TMetric app for tracking time on mobile devices: either a mobile phone or a tablet device. You will learn the basics of mobile time tracking with TMetric, what features the mobile app includes and why to choose it for tracking your work time.
TMetric mobile application allows you to track time from anywhere and at any time. This can be quite convenient for those who work remotely or when you are out of the office (at the meeting, conference, etc.)
With a mobile app, you can perform the following actions: create an account, log in to TMetric, start/stop a timer, see an active timer running, fix a timer, switch workspaces, add/edit a time entry, create a project, add breaks, use team view to monitor your team, create reports, and much more.
Install the TMetric app for Android or the TMetric app for iOS on your phone or a tablet device and track time on the go. The time recorded on the mobile app is automatically synced to the web app and vice versa. Just swipe down to refresh the screen content.

Note: Mobile time tracking can be disabled by a workspace admin. You can override this restriction for individual members if necessary.
Sign in to TMetric
After successful installation, run the app on your mobile device and sign in to your TMetric account, either by entering your username and password or signing in with your Google account.
On your iPhone and iPad, there is also a possibility to sign in with Apple.
If you don't have a TMetric account, you can easily create one for free by tapping the Create Account link below.
Create project and client
When signed in, you will see the screen where you can create a project and a client (optional). You will see this window only if you don't have any project in your workspace.
Just add the name of a project and a client's name (optional) in the corresponding fields, and tap the Create button. Though, you can skip this step if you don't need it.
Choose a workspace
If you already have several workspaces, when you sign in, TMetric will ask you to choose, which one you want to track time in.
Start timer
On the main screen that opens, you can easily start tracking your time by tapping the green play button. Your time entries will be added here.
When you click the Start timer button, you will see the Start New Time Entry window. Here you can select a task (or create a new one), a project, add tags and descriptions, and set the start time for your time entry. Click the Start button, and your work time will begin to be recorded by the app.
The green play button will change to the red one. You can stop the timer by clicking this button.
You can also quickly start the timer for any time entry on the Time page by swiping it to the left and tapping the Continue button.
Add time entry
You can add a time entry by tapping the plus button on the main screen. When the Add Time Entry window opens, you can select a task or a project and tags for it. Also, add a task description and its start and end times. And tap Add when done.
There is also the possibility to add a time entry for a specific date by selecting the required date in the corresponding field.
When the timer is running, and you click the plus button, it will provide you with two options: either start the timer (Start New Time Entry) or add time manually (Add Time Entry).
Edit time entry
If you want to change something in your time entry, just click it on the Time page, and the Edit Time Entry window opens. Here you can change the task, select another project the task belongs to, set the start and end time for a task, add the task description, and add tags. Tap Save when finished.
After you save the time entry, it will appear on the timesheet.
Delete time entry
You can quickly delete a time entry from the Time screen by swiping the time entry to the right and tapping the Delete button that appears.
You can also delete a time entry from the Edit Time Entry screen. In the upper right corner tap the Recycle Bin icon and your time entry is deleted.
Long-running timer
In TMetric, time entries cannot be longer than 12 hours. If it happens, the app will prompt you to fix it. On the Fix Timer screen, you will have two options: to delete the timer or fix it by manually setting the end time of the time entry.
Navigate between days
You can easily open any day you need by swiping the time bar back and forth or selecting the required day in the handy drop-down calendar. To open the calendar, tap the Overflow menu in the upper-right corner and select Go to a Specific Date.
You will see a handy calendar that will quickly take you to the required day.
Add breaks
To add a break, tap the Overflow menu and select Add Break. Set the start and end times for a break, and tap Add.
Team View
With the Check Team Status option, you can easily manage your team and be aware of what this or that employee is working on today. You, as a manager, can see whether your team member is working at the moment or not, what task he/she does, and how much time he/she works.
To use this option, tap the Overflow menu in the top-right corner and select Check Team Status from the list. You can select either a specific team or all users.
Now you can monitor your team's work from any place and at any time.
Switch workspaces
You can quickly switch from one workspace to another by tapping the More menu in the lower right corner and selecting the Switch Workspace option from the list. Then tap the workspace you need.
Note: This option appears in the menu only if you have more than one workspace for your work.
Create reports
TMetric mobile app allows you to easily create a report, which will display summarized information on a project, including costs, billable time, and billable amount for a selected time range.
More options
From the More menu in the lower right corner, you can open the My Profile screen, where you can change your password and sign out from the app. Also, you can go to the Switch Workspace screen and see the Privacy Policy and the version of the app.
