Simple Integration with Asana

TMetric connects to Asana through a browser extension that adds a timer button to each task. To set it up, users first create a TMetric account and choose a workspace where time data will be stored. Next, they install the TMetric browser and sign in with their account. After connecting Asana, a timer button appears directly inside Asana task pages. When a task is started, the timer records work time in real time or allows manual entry later. Each tracked session is automatically sent to TMetric and linked to the corresponding Asana task. In TMetric, these entries appear as detailed time logs grouped by project and task. Teams can then use this data to generate project time totals, timesheets, reports, and invoices based on billable and non-billable hours.

Simple Integration with Asana

Task and Project Hours Tracking

TMetric records time from Asana tasks and organizes it by task, project, user, and date inside TMetric reports. This structure helps teams see exactly how work time is distributed across ongoing projects and individual assignments without losing context between tools. Users can track task time directly from Asana, view total project hours, and include both manual and timer-based entries when needed. The system also distinguishes billable and non-billable work, making it easier to separate client work from internal activities. Team member workload data shows how hours are distributed across contributors. This visibility improves project estimates, strengthens budget control, supports workload reviews, and provides accurate data for client billing and reporting.

Task and Project Hours Tracking

Detailed Asana Time Reports

After time is tracked in Asana, TMetric turns it into reports by project, task, user, date range, and billable status. These reports give teams a structured view of how time is spent and how it aligns with planned work. Users can compare estimated vs. actual time to improve future planning accuracy and identify tasks that consistently exceed expectations. Team workload reports help review capacity distribution and spot over- or under-assigned members. Client reports can be prepared using filtered project data to show exactly what work was completed and when. Project budget progress tracking makes it easier to monitor whether hours are staying within planned limits. All reports can be exported for sharing, analysis, or billing workflows, ensuring time data is usable outside the system.

Activity Monitoring & Screenshots

TMetric can add activity monitoring and optional screenshots to Asana time tracking when these features are enabled in workspace settings. Screenshots aren't active by default and should be configured according to company policy. Activity monitoring shows productivity signals such as keyboard and mouse activity levels during tracked time, helping teams understand engagement patterns without interrupting work. Optional screenshots provide visual context for how time is spent during work sessions and can be limited to specific projects or users. This combination improves remote team visibility, supports accountability, and helps validate logged hours while maintaining clear privacy expectations through configurable controls and transparency settings.

Billing & Invoicing with Time Data

TMetric converts Asana time logs into billing data, helping teams invoice clients from tracked task hours instead of manual estimates. Each time entry recorded in Asana is synchronized into TMetric and categorized by project, task, and user, so billable work can be clearly separated from non-billable activities. This structure allows teams to apply hourly rates, calculate totals for specific clients, and generate invoices based on real tracked work rather than approximations. Managers can review detailed breakdowns before billing to ensure accuracy and avoid revenue leakage caused by missing or untracked time. Exported reports can be shared with accounting systems or used directly in invoicing workflows.
